Luis is retired having been a Captain in the merchant navy and then forming a company that he headed for 20 years. He is an International Judge, International Race Officer, and the president of the IODA Regatta Committee. He is an ISAF Race Management Instructor and was a member of the ISAF Race Management Sub-Committee until late 2008. During 2005 and 2007 he was a Course Marshal for the America’s Cup. 2008 ITO in Beijing Olympic Games.
